We have just started counting pennies and nickels. We played a game today where we rolled a die, took the number in pennies, and eventually exchanged the pennies for nickels. This is something that you could try at home. Another idea is to find out how much change is in your pockets. This ties in well with tallies and counting on from a given number.
We will be working with dimes next week.
